Regulating the harvesting of Giant Clams Species

To amend Section 1204 of Title 27 of the Palau National Code to regulate the harvesting of specified giant clam species except for cultured clams; to allow additional state regulation and the establishment of state permitting systems for the harvesting of giant clams; to amend Chapter 34 of Title 24 of the Palau National Code to require the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment to replenish the population of giant clams within the Protected Areas Network (PAN) sites and other state-designated sites in the Republic; to amend Section 1211 of Title 27 of the Palau National Code to strengthen the reporting requirements of the Bureau of Marine Fisheries with respect to its clam sustainability project; and for other related purposes.
