Key Provisions of H.B No. 12-3-1

Amends Section 28 of Republic of Palau Public Law 11-37 to provide social assistance to eligible retired and disabled citizens.
Appropriates $1,400,000 to the Ministry of Finance for expenditure or obligation during Fiscal Year 2025.
Provides $480 per eligible person as social assistance.
Assistance is available to retired citizens who are 60 years of age or older, reside in the Republic of Palau, and have no employment earnings.
Assistance is available to individuals receiving disability insurance benefits under Section 754 of Title 41 of the Palau National Code, provided they have no employment earnings.
The Ministry of Finance is responsible for the expenditure or obligation of the appropriated funds.
